Latest News and Information for Bands
Welcome everyone, to this years Bonanza. We are delighted that you intend to take part and would like to take this opportunity to provide some crucial information for you or your band. We have added this “Band News” page to the site, and this page will display all of the latest news and information that bands will need to be aware of for the 2009 Bonanza, so please keep checking this page regularly to ensure that you are up to date with what is happening. If you need any further information please feel free to contact the appropriate committee member.
Added 24 June 2009 Finally the band schedules are now available for download using the links below. Thanks to all for your patience and we hope you all can now plan your “Blues Trail” according to who your favourite bands or acts are. The schedules are in Word Document format so you will need Microsoft Office or Microsoft Word in order to print them. Apologies in advance if this is inconvenient but I have not had the time to do the usual PDF format. Any problems please contact me at admin@dundeebluesbonanza.co.uk.
Added 31 Mar 2009------------------------------------------------------------- Notes for All Performers To save time and confusion here is the list of artist fees for the 2009 event. These figures are set by the Venues, and as such are not negotiable.

Occasional acoustic 4pc acts will be scaled accordingly, between electric acts and acoustic trios. Some of the smaller venues will be obliged, as last year, to provide a PA to facilitate the changeover between artists. All acts are paid in CASH, on the day, on production of your contract. (Please check your contracts carefully when you receive them).
Electric Bands (with drums) will only qualify for a single gig on either Sat or Sun, except for selected acts who have travelled long distances.
All acts will be expected to provide their own PA and Backline, with certain exceptions as discussed above.
Some of the smaller Acoustic Venues will be OBLIGED, as of last year to install Vocal PA`s to facilitate the changeover between artists. A PA and 2 Mics are to be provided, in order to achieve spontaneity and this will be specified in individual contracts.
Larger venues, that are able to provide suitable PA facilities for the acts they book, will be thouroughly checked out by Ivor, from Soundhire Scotland to ensure their suitability and check their working order. This will benefit the 5+ piece acts and larger acts travelling from abroad.
As always, our aim is to provide the best balance of music and Venues possible and make the Dundee Blues Bonanza 2009 as successful as is possible. With thanks once again, The Committee.
Added 31 Mar 2009------------------------------------------------------------- ***PLEASE NOTE*** It is essential that new acts or revamped line ups must send us a CD demo and a concise band biography, preferably no more than 5 lines. The size of bio is important when it comes to utilising space in the programme.
When the deadline is reached the committee will then have the difficult task of selecting the bands/acts to provide a balanced programme. As usual it is the venues who set the pace of the Bonanza, as it is up to them alone to decide what size of act they are prepared to pay for.
