***** 6th July 2009 ***** Firstly, thanks to all the Committee for another great weekend.
Friday night in Dexters was very good and I really enjoyed the sets by The Blue Stripes and Jimmy C and the Blues Dragons. A special mention for Bob Hall for playing in the dark at the side of the stage while the bands gear was changed.
Joined by a couple of friends for Saturday and Sunday we started with the first set by Blues Deluxe in Lennons and must have seen about a dozen or more acts finishing with the Blue Kings in the Doghouse on Sunday night. All different, all good. My favourites over the weekend were Jimmy C, The Blue Stripes, Gypsy Bill Williams & Del, The Seventh Sons, The Convulsions and The Blue Kings.
The final show by The Blue Kings was magnificent. Having spoken to a couple of the band earlier in the day they were concerned there would be no one left to see them late on Sunday. We told them not to worry and were proven right as a big crowd danced the night away to two great sets and an extended encore. A worthy end to a great weekend.
It was three very happy but tired blues fans that got the train back to Aberdeen on Monday morning already looking forward to next year.
Thanks again. Martin Hunter Aberdeen
***** 3rd July 2009 ***** Spent most of the day Friday on the train to Durham to try to sort out my passport and so didn't get back till late. We played an absolute blinder of a gig to a packed house in the Gauger on Saturday so I just wanted to say thanks for making it a memorable weekend for me and putting all the work in to make it happen in spite of all the people who didn't want to help fund the event.
Hope you have nice holiday elephant wrestling.
Chris

***** 3rd July 2009 ***** Many congratulations for a very well organised 'Bonanza'. Please accept our thanks and an enormous pat on the back to you and your committee for what must have been an massive task in setting the whole thing up and making sure that everything run as smoothly as possible. We had a marvellous and appreciative audience to play for, and we had a great time. Take a bow sir, and I hope you can enjoy a few days rest now. Keep the blues flag flying !

***** 3rd July 2009 ***** Just a note to say thanks once again for booking us for the bonanza. We had a great time - excellent audiences at both The Gauger on Saturday and The Bond on Sunday. We got 'repeat' customers who came back to see us having heard us in previous years, which is satisfying - we can't be doing it all wrong then! And we sold some CD's, so a very successful trip - even the van ran well.
Hope you're not left with any administrative headaches in the aftermath and that you're looking forward to next year (well maybe once you've had time to rest on your laurels for a bit). Thanks also to the rest of the team - we bumped into Hennie outside The Gauger but missed seeing you this year.
All the best Tim
***** 3rd July 2009 ***** Hi, I hope you've got your feet up and feeling satisfied with the results of the Blues Bonanza. Thanks for putting us on, we greatly enjoyed the gigs at two very different venues. Our impressions were of a well organised and well supported event with a good atmosphere. Sorry not to have been able to hang around due to personal circumstances. I brought some CD's and announced that proceeds from sales would go towards the charities you are supporting. Unfortunately I only sold two but have £7.50 to send either to you or to the charity? Just need an address and payee.
Best wishes Dave Eatock, Bourbon Street Preachers
***** 3rd July 2009 ***** Just wanted to express my appreciation of the 2009 Blues Bonanza which I attended on Saturday. The venues were great and the bands were top quality. I saw Douglas Martin & the Mafia, Mama's Brand New Bag (the Dundee couple sitting next to me - this was their 13th Blues festival said they were the best band they had ever seen), Paul Rose Band - brilliant in the Old Horseshoe (I saw an Angel there) then back to the Chambers of Commerce for Jimmy C & the Blue Dragons
