The DBB 2009 Programme is Now On Sale
|
DBB 2009 Programme The 2009 Official Programme has now been printed. For those wishing to purchase one, they will be available in all of the participating venues from today (19th June). They can also be purchased from Groucho's and the Visit Scotland Tourist Board at Discovery Quay (both Dundee), and from Bandwagon Music (Perth).
Programmes will cost a mere £2, which is less than the price of a pint of beer. This money however is essential in helping to run the Bonanza and also to raise money for our adopted charities.

Sponsored Charities for 2009 During the 2008 event, the Dundee Blues Bonanza decided to use its presence to try to provide assistance for a worthwhile charity. We are delighted to announce that we will do this again in 2009, and will endeavour to raise awareness and also funds for both The Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT) and the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (DSWT).
Teenage Cancer Trust do sterling work for teenagers, who sadly suffer from cancer. Being a teenager is usually a difficult enough time just growing up, but to have the added problems, associated with cancer, makes the teenage phase, more stressful than most of us can imagine. Teenage Cancer Trust, understand this, and strive to give much valuable support during this difficult time.
The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, is a charity which was set up to help protect elephants the world over. Their main focus of work is in Kenya, where the Trust runs an elephant orphanage in Nairobi, familiar to many, after the wonderful "Elephant Diaries" programmes were shown on the BBC. Dr. Dame Daphne Sheldrick has been honoured by the University of Glasgow, with an honorary Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine, for her pioneering work in treating very sick new born elephants.
The two charities will receive 50% of all the money raised from the sale of the Bonanza programme and other fundraising efforts.
Further details can be found on our Charities Page.
